Dashing to Number One in the Upfront Club and Number 1 in the Mainstream Pop Chart, the massive club smash from David Guetta Featuring Skylar Grey “Shot Me Down” …..

After topping both the Upfront and Commercial Pop club charts six times in 2012, David Guetta paused for breath last year, sending just Play Hard (feat. Ne-Yo & Akon) and Right Now (feat. Rihanna) to number one – but he is back on form and on top of both charts with latest effort Shot Me Down, which boasts a Skylar Grey vocal, and reached number four on the OCC sales chart three weeks ago.

On the Upfront chart, Guetta had 11.77% more DJ support than nearest competitor, Russian DJ Zedd and his Hayley Williams collaboration, Stay The Night. Guetta has a smaller (3.67%) margin on the Commercial Pop chart, where Katy Perry’s latest effort, Dark Horse galloped hard but didn’t quite make the photo finish.

MUSIC WEEK CLUB CHART NEWS – 07/03/14

Dashing to Number One in the Upfront Club and Number 2 in the Mainstream Pop Chart, the massive club smash from DVBBS & Borgeous Featuring Tinie Tempah …..

Riding the crest of a wave all the way to number one on the Upfront club chart, Tsunami (Jump) is an irresistible EDM track fusing the original instrumental by DVBBS – Canadian brothers Alex and Chris Andre – and American DJ John ‘Borgeous’ Borger with a new vocal from Tinie Tempah. With the original mixes being supplemented by variations from Bill & Will, Tapesh, Lookas & Hltr$kltr and Friction, the track has been a slow burner, entering the Top100 of the Upfront chart last September, and serving a 14 week apprenticeship in the unpublished (41-100) section of the chart and a further eight weeks in the Top 40 before finally reaching number one. The first ever club chart entry for the North American contingent, it is Tempah’s first trip to the summit since Drinking From The Bottle, his Calvin Harris collaboration, in January 2013.

Tsunami (Jump) got a 6.58% stronger reaction Upfront than new runner-up Kylie Minogue’s Into The Blue – but on the Commercial Pop club chart, the positions are reversed with the latter track trouncing its opponent with a 27.29% better reaction from DJs.
