Music Week Upfront / Mainstream Pop News 18-07-16
The first artist to rack up three No.1s on the Upfront club chart this year is seasoned veteran Craig David, whose latest smash, One More Time, pulls off an audacious smash and grab, rising 11-1 to top the chart ahead of Martin Solveig, whose Do It Right (feat. Tkay Maidza) climbs 5-2 and is less than 1% in arrears in club support.
A song that doesn’t stray far from David’s garage roots in its original version, One More Time was crucially given multiple floor-friendly mixes from the likes of Troyboi, Sir Spyro, Alex Ross, Majestic and Crazy Cousinz. David’s earlier 2016 chart-toppers: When The Bassline Drops (feat. Big Narstie), which led the list in January, and Blonde’s April No.1, Nothing Like This, on which he was featured vocalist.
